On another note just wanted to say thanks for all those who attended the pancake breakfast where we also had ham, grits and eggs. We feasted on the good food and also feasted on fellowship.
Harvey Wilson and I made a prayer walk down Camellia Street Saturday Morning and prayed for each and every house we walked by, their occupants and the whole area to be covered by the Holy Spirit. We plan to make many more such walks to call the Holy Spirit down on this area so that whatever evil is there will be driven out and people will find peace not only inside there homes and hearts but outside as well.
We hope others will join us. If you are interested just let us know and we will set up times for walks to be scheduled.

The newsletter for the month is posted. Check it out for info for the month. There is a calendar that Jan keeps updated when she writes the newsletter. We will have our fall festival on the 27th. Fun for the kids and their costumes. All are invited. Remember the pancake breakfast on the first Saturday. We start serving at 8:30am until about 9:30am. Again all are invited.

We have our new newsletter for September posted. Just click on the newsletter link to the right and down a bit. Once you click on the link just click on the page you want to look at and it should get bigger with the click. A note for info-on the calendar the box at the bottom left is supposed to be important events for September and not July. Thanks again to Jan Day for putting the newsletter together and the others who contribute articles.

We have managed to post the Monthly Wesley UMC Newsletter. Just look for the links below the info section to the right. Click on the link Monthly Newsletters and it will bring up all the pages. Click on the page you want to read and it will expand to a readable size. Make sure to spread the word to all who may not be getting the newsletter. It is an easy way to keep up with what is going on in the church and its members.
Thanks to Jan Day for all she does in preparing the newsletters. She had to figure out how to copy the newsletters pages so that they could be posted.

Some pictures from our trip to the Wesley Foundation Student Center at Lamar University on Tuesday the 23rd. We had a great time of fellowship and fun while we served 273 hungry students a meal of spaghetti and meatballs, bread, salad and lemonade. There were also cookies for dessert. We served from 11am to 1pm and it was non-stop. Thanks to those who worked so hard to provide such a good witness to those who know our Savior and to those who don’t. John Wesley would have been happy with our efforts and I think he would have liked the T-shirts too! The lady stacking the plates is Anjelita Dirden, the pastor for Wesley Foundation. What a sweet spirit she has.

We will have the Church open Monday through Friday from 11am to 1pm and from 5pm to 7pm for anyone who would wish to come by and spend some time in prayer and meditation. We will also have a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday the 29th at 7pm. Please see our prayer request link for those that this church is praying for.

A great group of people who take servant hood seriously. They went to Wesley Student Center to serve a free lunch to any student that wanted to come by. 243 students came to the center for the spaghetti and meatballs. We had fun and worked hard and I know that all enjoyed seeing so many different races, religions and ethnicities come by for the food. There were lots of prayers by different students who represented the center and one young lady came before we started serving and prayed for us and our church. It was to say the least a very rewarding experience and we hope that our service was a positive influence on those who came to be served.

Jessica Frazier and Ryan Crowell were married last night at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange. It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful bride and a handsome groom. When Ryan was walking down the aisle with his new bride I could not help but notice the biiiiig smile he had on his face. The man was happy. Jessica had a big smile too and I have to agree that they both were glad to be where they were and all hitched up.
There were a lot of people in attendance, the church was at least 90% full if not more (it is a big sanctuary), and the reception was beautifully decorated at the Lamar Student Center. A great way to start a new life together with the one you love.
I believe I can speak for everyone at Wesley United Methodist Church when I pray for all of God’s blessings to be with Jessica and Ryan, that is Mr. and Mrs. Ryan and Jessica Crowell. Have the blessed life you deserve.

Tuesday this beautiful group of United Methodist went to feed some hungry kids at Lamar’s Wesley Foundation. We fed 283 students a spaghetti and meatball lunch. There was also salad, bread, lemonade and cookies. It was a great time of fellowship and some hard work. We were busy serving for most of those 2 hours from 11am to 1pm. It is a great feeling to go with this group of people who support each other and all work so fluidly together. Other than the sauce splattered all over my shirt I think we left it all there. Good job Wesley United Methodist Church! God smiles when we take the Gospel message out to the world. Many different nationalities were represented by the students and they all were served with smiles on peoples faces who showed them the love God has for us all.
