Spotlight on the Brossette’s

         Billy and Dean Brossette joined Wesley United Methodist Church in July 2006.We are blessed to have them.  These two are active in everything our church has to offer.  They are here for both services on Sunday and also the Wed. night Bible study and fellowship meal.  Both are involved in Sunday School. Billy serves on the SPR Committee, president of UMM, Third Sunday Singers and heads up the link sale for the bazaar. Dean is a big help during the bazaar making items to sell and helping make the gumbo. She is a faithful member of UMW, serves on the cookbook committee and helps with the cooking for the Lamar students.

         Both are volunteers at the Soup Kitchen on the 3rd & 5th Friday of each month.  We love the enthusiasm and love they share with everyone.  Thank you both for being so dedicated and faithful to our church.

Volunteers

Thelma Laughlin and Dean Self work at Orange Christian Services as volunteers each Wednesday. They work together very well and they are sisters. More beautiful people doing God’s work in a beautiful way. Dean and Thelma are also active with United Methodist Women and are at church every time the doors are open.

Staff

Doris Wilson is the Churches Secretary/Treasurer. Doris just started the paid position as Secretary for Wesley UMC/Orange but has been the Treasurer for many years as a volunteer. Doris also is the children’s Sunday School teacher who is always prepared even when we don’t have the kids there. We appreciate all you do Doris.

Jan Day works at Orange Christian Services. Jan is the one on the left. She is working with Joette Webb (Mcdonald Baptist) who is on the right. Jan not only works with OCS but also is very involved with UMW, is the main person behind our newsletter, is always at every church service and helps in many other ways. Beautiful volunteers doing what God calls them to do.

Sunday Evening Church

May 23, 2010

Our Sunday Evening Church is very casual and last about 30-40 minutes. We enjoy the fellowship, sing four songs and hear a short message from Pastor Randy. Services start at 5:00pm each Sunday Evening. Right now there is usually between 15-20 people there very regularly. Come and join us for the great fellowship.

Soup Kitchen Workers 5-21-10

We have fun while we do God’s work in feeding the hungry. Great fellowship and a blessing too.  Thanks for all your hard work Katherine, Connie, Dean, Randy, Billy, Frankie and Vivien. On third Friday we serve Sloppy Joe’s and on fifth Friday we serve Chili and rice.

Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study Group

This is the Group that is very faithful at coming each Wednesday. We have a prayer time for those on our prayer list, a short Bible Study type program and then we have a meal furnished by those in attendance. What a blessing they are to the Pastor at Wesley UMC who is taking the picture shown.
