Pastor’s Ponderings, Wonderings, Wanderings

I hope everyone had a great, love filled Thanksgiving with just the right amount of food for everyone.  I also hope that everyone remembered to be thankful Thursday but not just for the Thanksgiving day Thursday.  We can be thankful each and every day if we just make a little effort.  Our holidays are just one day out of the year that we celebrate but why not celebrate each day as if it was a holiday.  Being thankful and giving God the glory and honor He deserves for all that we have but with out all the extra calories.  In other words leave out all the extra food and celebrate with whatever your normal diet is each day.

We are looking forward to the Advent Season and Christmas. December the 2nd through the 23 are the four Sundays of Advent and help us to welcome in the wonderful miracle of Jesus’ birth and His reign as King here on earth. Advent derives from the Latin adventus, which means “coming.” The season proclaims the comings of Christ-whose birth we prepare to celebrate once again, who comes continually in Word and Spirit, and whose return in final victory we anticipate. Jesus has a home prepared for each one of us in the here and now. He is looking for us to come home to Him and to share in His Kingdom here on earth at this very moment.

Come home to Jesus.
